Personal or Open Source Projects
Contribute to many open source projects and maintain a few. These include the webcast project, that was created to automate streaming when COVID hit the US, and Pycord, a Discord API framework to create Discord bots in python, currently getting around 10,000 downloads a day on PyPI. More details are available on my GitHub.
Gained experience with many open source tools as I deploy them on VMware vSphere or with Docker at home. This includes using Home Assistant to automate around the house, and using Prometheus and Grafana to monitor servers and PCs. I have also used hardware such as Arduino Nano, Raspberry Pi Pico, and Raspberry Pi 4 to bring ideas to life.

Had the opportunity to run VEX tournaments for students across the state, managing VEX’s Tournament Manager software across multiple devices for ~8 hour long events.
Two-time recipient of the “Volunteer of the Year” VEX Award, one being at the Colorado State Tournament. I was able to mentor Elementary School Students in the VEX IQ program. I ran an official VEX State Tournament as the Lead Tech, along with many other VEX IQ level tournaments at different schools across the district. All of the schools had different layouts, which meant we had to figure out where to put fields and displays to create a consistent flow at the tournaments.
While working with the community schools program, I was able to design and deliver STEM courses for students to use. While designing these courses, I was able to add in Socially Assistive Robots such as Pepper and NAO.
I supported Rock CS, the Rocky Mountain Computer Science Conference for P-12 Educators, to allow teachers to gain a better knowledge of Computer Science and how to integrate it into their curriculum.
I helped to design, build, and test aquatic robots as part of a team. These robots were designed to help monitor lake conditions without the need for human divers. I was also able to work with a team to build an aquatic robot for the MATE ROV Competition.
